The Madras Chapter was inaugurated on February 22, 1977 by Dr .Easo John, the then
Managing Director, Madras Fertilizers Limited.
The Madras Chapter has made a significant contribution to the growth of the Internal
Auditing profession in this part of the country. The Chapter has been organizing
Training Workshops, Seminars and Conferences. It also brings out a Chapter Journal
"Audit Focus". The Chapter also organizes the CIA examination administered
by the IIA headquarters.

Brief write up on the Chapter Annual Conference held on 9th February
2013 at Chennai
Conference Theme: Blazing New Trails
The One-day Annual Chapter Conference was held on 9th February 2013 at
Taj Connemara-Vivanta Hotel, Chennai with the conference theme as “Blazing New Trails”.
Nearly 100 delegates participated in the conference and made it a grand success.
It was inaugurated by Mr C Sivakumar, Honorary Secretary of Madras Management Association
and CEO of M/s Prabha Engineers. The Key-note address was given by Mr PR Loganathan,
Former Region of India Director at IIA Inc and Advisor at the Chapter BOG. Distribution
of Awards to Outstanding students of MMA-IIA Certificate Course on Internal Auditing
was offered by R Lakshmi Ratan Endowments.
The following were the technical sessions held in the conference which were very
informative, useful and interesting on contemporary topics as given below:-
1. Stakeholder expectations from Internal Audit by Mr SN Babu Govindaraj,
VP & Head-Corporate Audit Services, Larson & Toubro Ltd.
2. Audit Challenges in BPO/ITES Industry by Mr JRS Reddy, VP &
FAO, Sutherland Global Services.
3. Auditing in a Cloud Computer Environment by Mr AR Parthasarathy,
Associate Director, PWC.
4. Bridging the knowledge and skills gap by Mr Nagesh Pinge, Chief
Internal Auditor, TATA Motors Ltd.
The valedictory session was chaired by Mr PC Anand, Past President, IIA India and
valedictory address was delivered by him. Vote of thanks was given by the Conference
Chair Mr K Vidyadharan, Governor of the chapter.
